The youth soldiers of the Samara region took part in the action “The Road to the Obelisk” in memory of the soldiers-liberators who died in the battles of the Great Patriotic War (WWII).

Schoolchildren from the Aleksandr Kuzmichev Yunarmeyskiy detachment put things in order and cleaned the snow around the monument to the fallen soldiers-fellow villagers, in the village of Prepolovenka, Bezenchuksky district. During the event, the memory of the soldiers was honored with a minute of silence.

The detachment of Yunarmeytsy is named in honor of the honorary resident of the region – Alexander Alexandrovich Kuzmichev. He went to the front as a volunteer and was seriously wounded in 1943. Alexander Kuzmichev was awarded the Order of the Patriotic War of the 1st degree, Zhukov medals, “For Courage” and “For Victory over Germany.” After returning to a peaceful life, he devoted himself to teaching as a teacher, and then director of a secondary school in the village of Perepolovenka.
