More than 60 exhibits were shown by the Museum “Military Glory of the Urals” of the House of Officers of the Central Military District (CVD) during the mobile exhibition “Echo of War” dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the beginning of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 in the Middle and South Urals.

The project was carried out in cooperation with the Museum “Military Glory of the Urals” of the House of Officers of the Central Military District, the municipal authorities of the city of Bogdanovich, Sverdlovsk region, as well as three cities of Kasli, Argayash and Karabash of the Chelyabinsk region. The exhibition could be viewed in cultural centers.

When visiting the exposition, each guest could feel the atmosphere of that time through the artifacts stored in the fund of the Museum of the House of Officers of the Central Military District: front-line “triangles” – letters that the Red Army soldiers wrote from the front to their loved ones, personal belongings of soldiers, uniform and household items, as well as exact copies of weapons during the Great Patriotic War.

“I would like to emphasize the special significance of museum work, which at the current political moment is acquiring the most important and essential significance. The event is intended to fill the gaps of the younger generation in the knowledge of Russian history. It is our responsibility to fight attempts to rewrite the history of World War II. And when we worked out the strategy of our museum for the coming years, we realized that the museum should work not only permanently, but also organize traveling exhibitions, including in small settlements of the Urals. The Echo of War project is the first step towards the implementation of our plans, ”said Sergei Konov, head of the military history hall of the Central Military District’s House of Officers.

He also added that all museum exhibits should work, should be available to society, especially for children, in order to pass on knowledge of Russian history to them, to visually illustrate the heroic pages of the Great Patriotic War.
