On the eve of the New Year, servicemen of the 201st Russian military base held a charity event in the Tajik city of Tursunzade. They donated over two and a half tons of food to the Church of the Intercession of the Mother of God, at which a dining room was created for people in difficult life situations.

The food packages included cereals, pasta, meat, sugar, condensed milk and a variety of canned food, as well as a variety of fruits and vegetables.

After the transfer of food, the rector of the church gave the servicemen an excursion.

For reference:

The 201st military base in Tajikistan is Russia’s largest military facility outside its borders. Based in two cities – Dushanbe and Bokhtar. It includes motorized rifle, tank, artillery, reconnaissance units, air defense units, RCB protection and communications.
