At the basing point of surface ships of the Caspian Flotilla with sailors who entered military service under a contract in the fall of this year, an exercise was held to fight for the survivability of the ship. The combat training event was organized at a special training complex (UTK), which simulates the compartments of the ship. The emergency crews worked out the procedure in the event of a fire on the ship and the elimination of holes with pumping out of the incoming sea water.

During the exercise, a situation was simulated in which a fire occurs and water flows under different pressures. Through the holes in the compartment, water was supplied under a pressure of over 4 kg per square centimeter, and the temperature in the conventionally burning engine room rose to 200 degrees Celsius.

For the first time in practice, contract servicemen have eliminated the fires, repaired the hole and sealed the emergency compartment. The sailors showed excellent preparation and coordination of actions as part of the rescue teams, successfully coped with the assigned tasks and fulfilled the standards for an assessment of at least “good”.

In addition, during the exercise, the servicemen studied fire extinguishing equipment, the algorithm and procedure for collective rescue on ships, and also equipped themselves in special thermal protective suits.

Exercise on the fight for the survivability of the ship is an obligatory element in the training of the crews of the ships of the Caspian Flotilla. Trainings are carried out on ships, as well as on special training complexes, which make it possible to practice the actions of sailors in conditions as close as possible to combat ones.

In total, about 100 sailors of the flotilla took part in the exercise to combat the survivability of the ship.
