“The total income of the self-employed in Moscow from the beginning of 2019 to December 1, 2021 amounted to 290 billion rubles – 38 percent of the total income received by all self-employed in Russia. The average check size in November 2021 reached 2,497 rubles, having increased by 31 percent compared to January of this year, and by 39 percent compared to November 2020. The special tax regime “Tax on professional income” began to operate in January 2019 in four regions of Russia, including Moscow, and since October 2020 it has been extended to the entire country.
