The servicemen of the electronic warfare (EW) unit, together with the anti-unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) group of the motorized rifle unit of the Southern Military District (YuVO), stationed in the Volgograd region, took part in a training session to detect and suppress a simulated enemy UAV.

Mobile electronic warfare groups using the RB-301B Borisoglebsk-2 electronic warfare system detected radio control channels for the drones of the imaginary enemy and carried out their suppression, and then destroyed the drones from small arms.

EW specialists completed the tasks of intercepting control of UAVs and landing them on their territory in order to seize intelligence information. Civilian drones and unmanned aerial vehicles, which are in service with the Southern Military District, were used as a conventional enemy UAV.

For reference:

The Borisoglebsk-2 electronic warfare system is designed to suppress the operation of mobile satellite communication systems and a radio navigation system; it allows detecting, determining the location and suppressing radio networks and radio communication lines of the tactical control level.
