Order of December 21, 2021 No. 3741-r

The Republic of Buryatia will receive over 4.1 billion rubles for the reconstruction of treatment facilities within the framework of the federal project “Conservation of Lake Baikal”. The order on the distribution of these funds for the next three years was signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.

Funding will be directed to the reconstruction of one of the largest municipal infrastructure facilities in the region – the right-bank treatment facilities of the Ulan-Ude sewage system. They purify domestic and industrial wastewater from residential buildings and city enterprises.

After the reconstruction, the capacity of the facilities will increase to 130 thousand cubic meters. m of wastewater per day, and the quality of treatment will increase. This will reduce the amount of pollution entering Lake Baikal and improve the environmental situation in the region.

“Preservation of Lake Baikal” is one of the federal projects included in the national project “Ecology”. Its goal is to improve the ecological state of Baikal by reducing the volume of polluted flows into the lake and other water bodies of the Baikal natural territory, as well as by cleaning polluted objects.
