On December 23, under the chairmanship of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov, a regular meeting of the Government Commission on the Affairs of Compatriots Abroad (PKDSR) was held.

First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on CIS Affairs, Eurasian Integration and Relations with Compatriots K.F. Zatulin, Head of the Federal Agency for the Commonwealth of Independent States, Compatriots Living Abroad and International Humanitarian Cooperation E.A. .Primakov, Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation T. N. Moskalkova, representatives of the Presidential Administration and the Office of the Government of the Russian Federation, other interested federal and regional executive bodies, public organizations and foundations.

The main attention was paid to the discussion of the tasks of working with the Russian diaspora in the light of the results of the VII World Congress of Compatriots Living Abroad, which took place on October 15-16, 2021 in Moscow. The need was noted for the active comprehensive work of the members of the PKDSR and the ministries, departments, organizations they represent to implement the decisions taken at the forum aimed at strengthening the multinational and multi-confessional Russian world, consolidating the Russian foreign community, expanding ties with compatriots living abroad, protecting their rights and legitimate interests and their preservation of the all-Russian cultural identity.

Information was heard on the experience of the Moscow Government’s work with compatriots abroad and on the interaction of the World Alumni Association with organizations of Russian compatriots abroad.

The list of compatriots for rewarding in 2021 with the Badge of Honor, Diploma, Diploma and Letter of Appreciation of the PKDSR was approved.
