According to the plan for the supply of the main types of weapons and military equipment in 2021, three new and three modernized radar stations (radars) “Sky” and “Kasta” entered service with the radio-technical troops of the Central Military District (CVO), which made it possible to strengthen control over the airspace in the Volga region and Siberia.

New mobile radar stations “Sky-UT” and “Kasta-2-2”, which entered service with radio technical regiments in the Samara and Novosibirsk regions, are equipped with improved data processing systems and allow more accurate determination of the height and range of air targets. In addition, the Central Military District’s radio engineering forces fleet has been replenished with three modernized Sky-M mobile radars capable of detecting airborne objects at a distance of about 2,000 kilometers.

The Central Military District is deployed on the territory of the Volga, Ural and Siberian federal districts and 29 constituent entities of Russia. The district structurally includes several foreign objects: Russian military bases on the territory of Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan, as well as units on the territory of Kazakhstan. The headquarters is located in Yekaterinburg.
