At the Mulino training ground in the Nizhny Novgorod region, servicemen of a separate artillery brigade of the Guards Tank Army of the Western Military District used Orlan-10 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) for reconnaissance of the area and adjusting artillery fire.

As part of the training, the UAV crews lifted 3 unmanned aerial vehicles into the sky above the training ground, the main task of which was to detect the enemy, transmit the coordinates of targets and adjust artillery fire on the detected targets. The UAVs flew at an altitude of 500 to 1200 meters.

Having drawn up a full-fledged map of the area, the calculation of the control of the complex discovered all the hidden positions of the conditional enemy. During the mortar firing of the batteries of the Msta-S self-propelled howitzers, the drone crews corrected the fire using optical surveillance equipment.

Classes were held as part of a tactical exercise with artillery units of the Guards Tank Army of the Western Military District. In total, more than 200 servicemen took part in the training as part of the exercise and about 60 units of weapons, military and special equipment of a separate artillery brigade of the ZVO tank army were involved.
