On December 24, at the Academy of Civil Protection of the Ministry of Emergencies of Russia, the results of the activities of the student rescue movement of the Moscow Region for 2021 were summed up.

The event was attended by members of the detachment, the leadership of the Academy and the All-Russian Student Rescue Corps, the Main Directorate of the EMERCOM of Russia in the Moscow Region, the Regional Government, the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs, as well as partners from various youth public organizations.

The student corps of rescuers of the Moscow region consists of 12 teams and has more than 320 volunteers – these are students of the Civil Protection Academy, students of the Moscow Region technical schools and colleges in specialized areas of training, as well as activists.

Over the past year, rescue students have held more than 450 socially significant events in various areas.

One of the most important activities of the corps is preventive work with children, youth and adults to form a culture of safety. For pupils of kindergartens and schools in the Moscow region, face-to-face open and online safety lessons were held, competitions and a children’s camp “Young Rescuer”, seasonal risks campaigns, contests and exhibitions of children’s creativity were organized. In total, over 50 such events were held in 2021, with a total coverage of about 5 thousand children.

For youth and adults, volunteers conducted about 20 first aid sessions, which were attended by 300 people. Also, on the basis of the AGZ, in cooperation with the Center for Emergency Psychological Aid and the Main Directorates of the Ministry of Emergencies of Russia in Moscow and the Moscow Region, rescue students held a competition in first aid and psychological support “Human Factor”. More than 100 volunteers from the Central Federal District became their participants.

Within the framework of the direction of activity “Creation and development of student rescue teams”, training camps were held on parachute-free landing, mountain training, search for those lost in the natural environment, training of volunteers was organized under the programs “Industrial mountaineering” and “Sailor-rescuer”.

In addition, together with the EMERCOM of Russia, volunteers took up operational duty, participated in search and emergency recovery operations. So, over the past year, rescue students underwent an internship in ensuring safety at water bodies – more than 30 shifts and 300 preventive measures were taken. In addition, during the summer period, the composite group of the VSCS of the Moscow Region carried out restoration work on the territory of the Irkutsk Region for a month. The guys provided assistance to residents whose households suffered as a result of the passage of the flood.

It should be noted that volunteers have repeatedly become winners of grant competitions and award winners both at the regional and federal levels. So, this year the project of students-rescuers of the Moscow region won the International prize “We are together” in the nomination “Heroes among us” in the track “Volunteers and NGOs”.

At the end of the event, a solemn rewarding of the volunteers who distinguished themselves at the end of the year with diplomas, Academy badges and departmental awards took place. In total, more than 50 people were awarded. Over the past year, these guys actively participated in the life of the student rescue movement, and also demonstrated high achievements in the educational process.
