The corvette “Hero of the Russian Federation Aldar Tsydenzhapov” of the Pacific Fleet (Pacific Fleet) hosted a solemn event dedicated to the anniversary of the admission of the warship to the fleet. A year ago, the St. Andrew’s flag of the Russian Navy was raised on the corvette for the first time.

The event began with a ritual – raising the State, Naval and color flags, after which a solemn meeting took place. The commander of the fleet’s surface ships formation, Rear Admiral Alexander Schwartz, congratulated the crew of the warship, wished them success in combat training, and also reminded them of the honor and military duty worthy of the name of Hero of Russia – Pacific sailor Aldar Tsydenzhapov.

The rally was attended by the corvette commander, Captain 3rd Rank Andranik Shishmanyan, representatives of veteran organizations, as well as the compatriots of the sailor Aldar Tsydenzhapov who arrived, who brought video greetings from the Hero’s parents from Transbaikalia.

After the meeting, an excursion around the battleship was organized for the guests with refreshments in the wardroom with naval cuisine.

For reference:

“Aldar Tsydenzhapov” is the third multipurpose patrol ship of project 20380, built at the Amur shipyard for the Pacific Fleet. The corvette was named after the 19-year-old sailor Aldar Tsydenzhapov, who at the cost of his life prevented the spread of a fire in the engine room of the Bystry Pacific Fleet destroyer, for which he received the posthumous title of Hero of the Russian Federation.

During the year, the corvette took part in a number of exercises, including in the far sea zone. The ship’s crew has achieved significant success and is recognized as one of the strongest in the fleet.
