The work will take place as part of the repair and construction of new tracks in the Kursk direction of the Moscow Railways.
The Moscow-Passenger-Kurskaya station of the Moscow Railway (MZD) is being reconstructed. There are plans to build a new distribution lobby and an electrical interlocking post, to make platforms and crossings more convenient. This was told by the chief architect of Moscow Sergey Kuznetsov.
The work will take place as part of the repair and construction of new tracks in the Kursk direction of the Moscow Railways. The total area of the lobby and the post will be about 8.6 thousand square meters.
“The modern platforms and comfortable lobby will definitely benefit passengers. In design, the authors of the project adhered to modern trends, focusing on the convenience of people moving. As a result, we received a high-quality solution that fits into the promising development of the area. The building will be austere and laconic, ”said Sergei Kuznetsov.
From the distribution lobby, passengers will be able to climb to the platforms via escalators and stairs, which will be covered by the entrance pavilions. They will also make an exit towards the former plant “Arma” and two tunnels that will connect the lobby with the building of the Kursk railway station. The premises itself will be adapted for people with limited mobility.
The facades of the electrical interlocking post will be decorated with decorative elements in the form of flying birds. Aluminum cassettes, polished granite and limestone were chosen as materials for cladding.
