The crew of the corvette of the Baltic Fleet “Soobrazitelny” conducted a tactical exercise with a combat launch of an anti-aircraft missile at the sea range of the Baltic Fleet.

During the exit to the sea, the crew of the Soobrazitelny corvette performed the task of repelling a missile strike against a complex air target imitating an anti-ship missile of a conventional enemy. The crew of the “Soobrazitelny” fired at the target using a sea-based surface-to-air missile system (SAM) “Redut”. The target missile was launched from the small missile ship “Passat”, a compound of missile ships and boats of the Baltic Naval Base.

An anti-aircraft missile launched from a corvette successfully hit the designated target. The shooting was carried out in a difficult jamming environment with the use of a conditional enemy of electronic countermeasures.

The sea range of the Baltic Fleet, where the exercise took place, was temporarily declared dangerous for civilian shipping. The tasks of ensuring security in the area of missile launches were carried out by over 10 surface ships and fleet support vessels, which ensured a high level of security for the event.

After completing the firing mission, the ship’s crew conducted a series of naval exercises – on electronic warfare, damage control, anti-sabotage defense and others.
