The government has approved a roadmap for the implementation and use of information modeling (TIM) technologies in design and construction.

“Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin has approved a roadmap for the implementation and use of TIM. More than 30 events will be implemented on it in the next two years. Now digitalization is a prerequisite for the development of the construction industry. Technologies significantly reduce the time for document circulation, which means that they accelerate and reduce the cost of construction. We will be able to control any object at all stages of the life cycle – from concept to operation. The “road map” will provide us with a systematization of the process of transition to TIM, will speed up and simplify it. At the same time, the use of TIM requires timely amendments to regulations, including GOSTs. Accordingly, the “road map” will ensure the clarity of this process, “said Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin.

The roadmap provides for the development of promising areas of application of new technologies in the construction industry, for example, augmented and virtual reality at the stages of installation and commissioning. It is also planned to develop aeromonitoring using unmanned aerial systems during engineering surveys, construction, operation and demolition of facilities.

Regulatory measures will also affect the elimination of barriers to the use of new building materials and advanced domestic technologies.

Particular attention will be paid to promoting the use of energy efficient and environmentally friendly materials. Preference will be given to manufacturers and developers following the green agenda. Also in the list of activities is the preparation of guidelines for classifying building materials as energy efficient and environmentally friendly, the development of standard projects with their use.

The smart home will also receive support – automation of household systems. It is planned to introduce elements of domestic equipment for the “Smart House” hardware and software complex at the construction stage.

The concept of “information model of a capital construction object” was adopted in the Urban Planning Code in 2019. The information model is a collection of information, documents and materials that are formed at all stages of the life cycle of a capital construction object. The developer, technical customer of the object or the one who is responsible for its operation is engaged in the collection of data about a capital construction object. The use of information modeling technologies helps to improve the quality of construction and reduce the timing of the implementation of investment and construction projects.
