The remaining nine-station section of the Big Circle Line (BCL) of the Moscow metro is nearly two-thirds ready. This was announced by the Deputy Mayor of Moscow in the Moscow Government for Urban Development Policy and Construction Andrey Bochkarev.
“Today, the BCL continues to work on the eastern section of four stations, the northeastern section of three stations, and also two stations of the former Kakhovskaya line are being reconstructed to integrate them into the BCL. The overall readiness of the remaining section of the Big Ring has exceeded 60 percent, ”he said.
The construction of these stations is scheduled for completion in 2022.
“The highest degree of readiness of these sections is near the northeast – 85 percent. For example, the longest escalators in Moscow, 135 meters long, have recently been launched at the Maryina Roshcha station. Previously, the longest, 125-meter high, were only at Pobedy Park, “added Andrei Bochkarev.
Opening of 10 stations of the Big Circle Line – Terekhovo, Kuntsevskaya, Davydkovo, Aminevskaya, Michurinsky Prospect, Vernadsky Prospect, Novatorskaya, Vorontsovskaya, Zyuzino and Kakhovskaya – the most a large-scale one-time launch in the history of the Moscow metro.
The construction of the Big Circle Metro Line is a key metro construction project in the capital. Its length will be more than 70 kilometers, 31 stations will be located here, 22 of which are already receiving passengers.
