More than 13 thousand people lived in old houses.

In 2021, under the renovation program, about 70 houses were resettled, where more than 13 thousand people lived. This was announced by the head Department of Urban Development Policy of Moscow Sergey Levkin.

“In 2021, 69 houses were resettled under the program for the renovation of the housing stock. At the same time, 73 new buildings were transferred for settlement, where residents of 198 houses began to move, “he said.

Sergei Levkin also clarified that most of the buildings were settled in the east (16 houses) and northeast (13 houses) of the capital. “There are nine houses in the Western Administrative District, six old buildings in the south-west and south-east of the capital,” the head of the department emphasized.

Since the beginning of the renovation program, 149 new buildings have been handed over for settlement. Proposals to move to new apartments have already been received by 69.7 thousand residents of 421 houses.

The renovation program was approved in August 2017. It concerns about one million Muscovites. To date, a total of 534 launch sites have been selected. In 2022 plan to build about one and a half million square meters of housing.
