At the Yekaterinburg Suvorov Military School (SVU), officers-educators conducted an excursion for the students of the city’s schools.

During it, the children got acquainted with the peculiarities of education and life in a departmental educational institution, and also learned about the procedure for admission to the school. They also visited the museum room, where they learned the history of the establishment of the institution. In addition, the students were told about the hero-graduates, including the military pilot who died in the line of duty in Syria, Lieutenant Colonel Oleg Peshkov.

At the end of the event, the officers-educators wished the students a Happy New Year, wishing them health and good studies.

Initially, the SVU was called Orlovsky and was located in the city of Yelets. On December 19, 1943, the school was awarded the Red Banner. In September 1947 the school was transferred to Sverdlovsk (Yekaterinburg). 12 graduates were awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union and the Russian Federation.
