“The work of the Government is aimed at the systematic achievement of the indicator set by the President. Every year we create more and more affordable sports facilities. So, within the framework of the federal project “Sport is the norm of life” this year we have commissioned 77 sports facilities throughout the country, next year we plan to commission more than 110, ”said Dmitry Chernyshenko.

He also spoke about the new edition of the state program “Development of physical culture and sports” until 2030, which will come into force on January 1, 2022. It is aimed at the most efficient and rapid achievement of national goals and strategic initiatives. It is planned to allocate 70 billion rubles from the federal budget for its implementation in 2022.

“Starting next year, on the initiative of Business Sprint, we are launching a federal project of the same name, the task of which is to attract entrepreneurs to the development of sports infrastructure. By 2024, more than 200 smart sites will be built, and by 2030 – 1000 with the participation of private investment. The number of equipped bike paths will also double in nine years. Now there are 683 km of them, and an additional 700 km of new safe bike trails will be created, ”Dmitry Chernyshenko said.

The Vice Premier also spoke about the preparations for the Beijing 2022 Olympic Games. According to him, a plan for the final stage of preparation of national teams has been formed, drawn up in such a way that athletes will reach their peak by the beginning of the competition. The expanded list of candidates for the Olympic team includes 600 people in 13 sports from 45 regions of the country. At the moment, Russia has won 218 out of 261 possible quotas, including in seven new disciplines.

Sports Minister Oleg Matytsin noted the importance of interagency cooperation and work with the regions in the strategic development of the sports industry.

“The past year was successful, it was the first year of the implementation of the Strategy for Physical Culture and Sports until 2030. We have largely completed all the intermediate tasks. I want to emphasize that the key approach to the ministry’s activities is joint work with departments, regions and all-Russian federations. We define our mission as the maximum integration of sports into all spheres of social and economic activity of the state. This approach is now being actively implemented in all national projects. We understand that only active cooperation with federal authorities and regional authorities will allow us to achieve results, ”said Oleg Matytsin.

The Minister of Sports emphasized the successes of Russia in organizing international competitions and sports international diplomacy. “In 2021, Russia fully fulfilled all obligations to international sports federations. We have held 77 particularly significant international competitions. The standard that the Russian Federation always demonstrates is a guarantee that our country will continue to host major international events in the future. We are getting ready to host major world-class sports, educational and scientific forums next year.
