Emergency and operational field teams are provided with materials and equipment to carry out emergency recovery work, if necessary.

On New Year’s holidays, a round-the-clock watch of all municipal services will be organized. The corresponding decision was made at a meeting of the Presidium of the Moscow Government.

Security measures have been strengthened during festive events. Emergency and operational field teams are equipped with materials and equipment for carrying out emergency recovery work, if necessary.

To eliminate possible incidents, 1,352 emergency recovery teams can be involved. 1449 units of specialized equipment, over 1.8 thousand emergency power supply sources (diesel generator sets) were prepared.

Snow removal

For timely snow removal, 10.5 thousand units of snow removal equipment have been prepared. If necessary, they will additionally use about seven thousand pieces of equipment.

On especially dangerous sections of roads, primarily on the Moscow Ring Road, 41 trucks are on duty around the clock.

2.9 thousand brigades were formed to clean 15.8 thousand pitched roofs. About seven thousand people (manual cleaning workers) are involved in cleaning areas where mass events are held and road facilities.

Removal, processing and disposal of household waste are carried out in a planned manner. Particular attention is paid to Christmas markets. To clean the grounds of the Journey to Christmas festival located in the city center, 1,100 workers and 380 pieces of equipment are involved around the clock.

The CHPP has accumulated the necessary reserves of reserve fuel: 400.4 thousand tons of fuel oil, 360.4 thousand tons of coal and 22.4 thousand tons of diesel fuel. The stock of the power supply system makes it possible to provide consumers with heat stably and uninterruptedly at an outside air temperature of up to minus 30-40 degrees.

To eliminate the consequences of possible emergencies, a special group has been formed. It includes 2011 personnel, who have 381 units of fire and rescue and specialized equipment and seven helicopters at their disposal.

75 rescuers will be on duty at the water bodies of the city. 25 hovercraft, 35 vehicles, a snowmobile and two ATVs were prepared from the equipment.

Every year Moscow celebrates the New Year with festive fireworks. 26 special sites for launching pyrotechnics have been identified. During the New Year holidays, representatives of executive authorities, employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, police and volunteer firefighters will be on duty.

Festive decor and winter infrastructure

The festive atmosphere in Moscow is created by more than 4.5 thousand light structures and about one thousand artificial New Year trees, installed as part of the concept of festive decoration under the city and sponsorship programs. Architectural and artistic illumination works at 150 objects in the capital in a festive mode.

1,600 New Year and Christmas posters were placed on the city advertising media. Festive videos are broadcast on 50 digital billboards and 12 media facades on Novy Arbat, as well as on the Central Telegraph building on Tverskaya Street.

There are 4099 winter infrastructure facilities for Muscovites and guests of the capital:
