On the New Year’s Eve, Vanya Fokin, who was rescued three years ago during the collapse of a residential building in Magnitogorsk, and his family were prepared a thematic surprise – an acquaintance with the units of the Russian Emergencies Ministry.
The boy’s acquaintance with the department began with a meeting in the fire station No. 60 in the city of Istra with his savior Petr Gritsenko, deputy director of the Department of Rescue Formations.
On January 1, 2019, a rescuer, while dismantling the rubble after the collapse of a house in Magnitogorsk, found a 10-month-old child alive under the rubble after more than a day at 25 degrees below zero. Since then, Vanya has become the “godfather” of the rescuers who take care of him.
“Every life saved, and even more so the life of a child, is a real miracle. And such miracles are brought to life by firefighters and rescuers of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia every day, carrying out military service, “- said P. Gritsenko.
P. Gritsenko, together with the leaders of the Istra fire garrison, conducted an excursion to the fire department and introduced Vanya to fire and rescue equipment. The boy was most interested in the firefighters tanker truck and ladder. In the cab of the cars, the rescuer told the child about the purpose and capabilities of the fire-fighting technique. Then the firefighters showed an educational cartoon on the subject of adherence to fire safety rules in everyday life.
After getting acquainted with the work of firefighters, Vanya and his family came to visit the Leader Center for Special Risk Rescue Operations. Rescuers prepared for the boy an interactive exhibition of rescue equipment, robotic equipment on the equipment of the Center, and also conducted an excursion around the territory of the Center. The rescued child had a unique opportunity to feel like a real rescuer. It was possible to climb inside each presented piece of equipment, sit and even manipulate a little.
After the excursion, Vanya was shown a theatrical performance based on the Russian folk tale “The Flying Ship”. The roles of the characters were played by the children of the Leader Center employees. The Fokins’ family liked the children’s performance very much.
After visiting the Leader Center, Vanya and his family went on an excursion to the National Crisis Management Center of the Russian Emergencies Ministry. The Fokins’ family was told about the work of the emergency department in the field of preventing seasonal risks and emergencies of a man-made and natural nature.
