Dear colleagues!

Dear veterans!

Congratulations on the upcoming year 2022!

New Year’s holidays traditionally remain special for us, filled with home comfort and warmth. These are invaluable moments of meetings with family and close friends, a time of new plans, spiritual uplift and hopes for overcoming adversity.

In the past year, while continuing to work in the difficult conditions of the pandemic, the employees of the penal system performed their professional duty with high responsibility. Thanks to your efforts, it was possible to prevent the massive spread of a dangerous disease in the institutions of the penal system.

Significant progress has been achieved in improving the penal legislation, and much has been done to expand the practice of applying punishments without isolating offenders from society. Comprehensive work was continued to improve the conditions of detention of suspects, accused and convicted persons, to improve the quality of medical care and the level of security in correctional institutions and pre-trial detention centers.

I thank the staff for their honest and conscientious service.

Despite modern digital technologies, which in recent years have been actively equipping institutions of the penal system, people are still the most valuable and key resource in this difficult and necessary work for society. Here, continuity and traditions are important, the transfer of the accumulated experience and subtleties of the profession. I express my special gratitude to the veterans of the service, who, having retired, continue to participate in the life of the collectives of the institutions.

We have the families of employees who died in the line of duty, protecting other people, keeping the country safe. It is important that they always feel our help and support.

I wish you all good health, good luck in good endeavors, happiness, mental well-being to you and your loved ones. May the coming New Year bring you joy and success.

Director of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia, Colonel General of the Internal Service
