From 2022, the regions will receive subsidies from the federal budget for the creation of schools for creative industries. The necessary changes have been made to the state program “Development of Culture” and approved by the Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin.

Schools of creative industries will be able to receive additional education and develop creative skills for students in grades 5-11 of general education institutions. At least 60 people will be admitted to each such school annually.

Among the main areas of study are sound engineering, electronic music, photo and video production, animation and 3D graphics, design, interactive digital VR and AR technologies. The training course is designed for two years.

The regions in which schools of creative industries will be created will be determined by the Ministry of Culture based on the results of a competitive selection.

Co-financing from the federal budget for the implementation of the project in 2022 will amount to 1.6 billion rubles, in 2023 – 1.6 billion rubles, in 2024 – 1.75 billion rubles.

In September, the Government approved the Concept for the Development of Creative Industries. Its task is to create conditions that will help people realize their creative potential and will contribute to an increase in the share of creative entrepreneurship in all sectors of the economy.
