The only museum of salutes and fireworks in Russia is located on the territory of a separate guards salute division of the Western Military District named after Marshal of Artillery Vladimir Mikhalkin.

During the year, two command posts arrived, a Soviet 203-mm self-propelled gun 2S7 self-propelled gun “Pion”, a Soviet 240-mm mortar 2S4 “Tulip”, a Soviet anti-aircraft self-propelled gun “Shilka”. 6-pound ship cannon, 15th century coulevrin and other examples of military equipment.

After the arrival of the equipment, the soldiers of the salute division performed a number of restoration work to replace faulty parts and mechanisms, eliminated the corrosion of the gun parts, and also completely painted the structural elements. Information for the guests of the museum has been prepared about the history of creation and the tactical and technical characteristics of each weapon.

The museum now contains over 170 exhibits that tell about the origin and development of traditions of fireworks production, military documents, maps, a collection of fireworks of different caliber, color, launch height and opening diameter. The street exposition features over 50 samples of weapons and military equipment brought from various regions of the country and restored by the unit’s military personnel.

The only fireworks museum in Russia opened in October 2017. In total, the exhibition complex has more than 1200 unique exhibits: artillery pieces, ground and ship fireworks, control panels, maps, photographs and a rare collection of fireworks of various calibers and colors.
