Real specialists leave only on request, and the time of arrival is agreed in advance.

Muscovites on holidays are advised to remain vigilant and beware of fraudsters who may come to their apartments disguised as public utilities employees.

“Unfortunately, it is not uncommon for fraudsters, posing as employees of various utilities, to come to the apartments of Muscovites, most often elderly people, retirees, and offer services for replacing meters, checking gas stoves. At the same time, they often try to sell expensive equipment that may pose a danger during operation, ”said the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Housing and Utilities and Improvement

Peter Biryukov.

The deputy mayor urged Muscovites to be more careful and not fall for such tricks.

“City services do not plan to carry out door-to-door rounds and inspections during weekends,” explained Pyotr Biryukov. “Unless an emergency has arisen, utilities never come without warning – specialist visits are carried out only at the request of citizens in case of emergency, the time of arrival must be agreed upon.”

All sudden checks are illegal. If people who introduced themselves as employees of the communal service came to the townspeople with such a check, then they are scammers, whose visit should be immediately reported to law enforcement agencies, stressed Pyotr Biryukov.

You can get information about the check at the information stand at the entrance and on the website of the company that conducts it. Before you let strangers in, it’s better to make sure that they are really utility specialists. To do this, you can simply call the management company, give the name and surname of the specialist and clarify whether a detour is being made now. You can find out the contacts of the managing organization on the portal“Houses of Moscow”.
