Over the past year, 337 innovative cars “Moscow-2020” have appeared in the Moscow Metro – this is 44 full trains. The pandemic did not interfere with the renewal of public transport, and passenger travel became more comfortable and quieter.

The new cars have wide doors and inter-car passages – during rush hours, two passengers can easily disperse. In addition, there is an air disinfection system, the number of USB ports has been increased five times, and the noise level has decreased by 15 percent.

Last year, new carriages were delivered to the Koltsevaya and Kaluzhsko-Rizhskaya lines, and for the first time, Moscow-2020 trains began to carry passengers on the Big Circle Line.

The rate of renewal of rolling stock in the Moscow metro is higher than in many cities around the world. In 2021, the train fleet on the Koltsevaya and Bolshaya Koltsevaya lines was completely renewed – now passengers have access to comfortable, innovative and spacious cars “Moscow-2020”.

“This year and next, we will purchase more than 660 new cars in total, and by the end of 2023 we will have the youngest train fleet among the USA and Europe. Over the past 10 years, we have reduced the average age of trains from 22.5 to 12 years and continue to further improve the comfort of your travel in transport, ”said the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport

Since 2010, the metropolitan subway has received 3,885 new cars. The share of modern trains has grown more than fivefold – from 12 to 68 percent. More than 100 trains will operate on the Big Circle Line alone – this is more than 800 comfortable cars
