The Marines of the Caspian Flotilla (CFL) completed the airborne training program (ATP) for the 2021 academic year in full.
Servicemen of the airborne assault and reconnaissance units of the flotilla made over 2 thousand parachute jumps to various landing sites. At the end of 2021, the jump plan provided for by the combat training program was completed by 101%, which exceeded the indicators of the previous year.
Training activities were regularly carried out on the shells and simulators of the modern airborne complex. With sergeants and sailors weekly for 2 hours, with officers and warrant officers as part of their units. The training questions were worked out according to the principle from simple to complex, at first the individual elements of the jump were mastered, then the skills were consolidated on complex shells. With the young replenishment and personnel who do not have airborne training, training camps were held with practical issues in the scope of the training program for the newly arrived replenishment.
During the training camp, each Marine performed at least 20 parachute jumps. The airborne assault was carried out in full combat gear from Mi-8 helicopters from an altitude of 800 to 1500 m both in the daytime and at night. The training camp was carried out in accordance with the combat training plan both in the winter and in the summer training period.
In 2021, the modernized D-10 parachutes entered service with the airborne assault units of the Caspian Flotilla. They weigh several kilograms less than previous samples, the parachute easily turns in the wind and is capable of horizontal gliding.
A characteristic feature of the D-10 parachute system is the increased carrying capacity – the weight of the paratrooper with the equipment can reach 140 kg, which makes it possible to increase the weight of the combat equipment and the ability to carry additional ammunition.
