More than 10 of the newest self-propelled pontoons entered service with the railway connection of the Southern Military District (YuVO), stationed in the Krasnodar Territory.

The self-propelled pontoon (pusher) PST-1 is designed for towing ferries or individual sections of floating railway bridges in service with railway troops.

The pontoon provides transportation of elements of hydraulic structures on water bodies with a wave height of up to 1.2 m.

Thanks to the powerful diesel engine, the mobility of the new technology has increased significantly compared to the pontoons of the previous generation.

Railway troops are already mastering new equipment in the course of special tactical exercises, performing tasks of providing technical cover for assigned facilities, rebuilding, demining and blocking sections of the railway transport infrastructure, as well as guiding crossings over water obstacles.
