In the combat training of the naval forces during the winter training period, the intensity of inter-naval transitions by the crews of ships and submarines to perform tasks in the far sea zone, including as part of the permanent grouping of the Russian Navy in the Mediterranean Sea, will increase. In 2022, inter-fleet crossings of warships and support vessels will also become a common practice for the Caspian Flotilla.

General of the Army Alexander Dvornikov, Commander of the Southern Military District (YuVO), recalled the achievements of the maritime associations in the past academic year.

“Crews of small artillery and landing ships of the Caspian Flotilla in the spring of 2021 along the Volga and Don successfully made the transition from the Caspian to the Sea of Azov, and then, to the Black Sea. The crews of the Black Sea Fleet ships, who have repeatedly demonstrated their presence in the waters of the Mediterranean and Red Seas, feel confident in inter-naval transitions, ”said the commander of the Southern Military District.

In the new academic year, the ships of the Black Sea Fleet and the Caspian Flotilla, within the framework of joint exercises, will have to work out training tasks in a single tactical concept with the aviation forces, air defense forces, and units of the combined-arms formations of the Southern Military District.
