The most popular activities are yoga, functional and dance training.
The fifth season of the project of the capital Department of Sports and centers of public services “Sports Weekend”. A split marathon, Pilates, trainings with star guests and other unique activities delighted the participants throughout the year.
Now the audience of “Sports Weekend” has more than 700 thousand people. In 2021, the number of participants increased sixfold. The most popular activities among the townspeople are yoga, functional and dance training.
From May to October, trainers conducted classes in 15 city parks. The most popular sites are the Khodynskoye Pole Park, the Kolomenskoye Museum-Reserve and VDNKh.
During the offline season, unique activities took place in unusual locations. Regular participants stretched their muscles in Tsaritsyno Park, did functional training on the observation deck of the Northern River Station, the roof of the OKO tower of the Moscow City business center and the arch of the main entrance to Gorky Park. In the summer, within the framework of the project, they conducted Pilates classes at the Ritz-Carlton, Nordic walking at the Luzhniki Stadium, and cycling on a ship sailing along the Moscow River. Alla Mikheeva, Timur Soloviev, Dmitry Guberniev, Alexey Yagudin, Dmitry Khrustalev and other media persons took part in special trainings.
By the end of the year, the first closed online marathon of the project “Sit on the Twine with Sports Weekends” began. The vacant seats were taken in just two days. For three weeks, more than a thousand participants were engaged in stretching under the guidance of trainer Maria Tsukanova. At the end of the marathon, the organizers summed up the results and raffled off branded prizes among the most active participants.
