Since the beginning of the new year, the anti-terror units of the Central Military District have conducted more than 40 counter-terrorism exercises on formations and military units deployed in the Volga region.

According to the concept of practical actions, the “militants” broke into the territory of military camps to carry out terrorist acts and take hostages. After receiving the alarm, the anti-terror subunits promptly moved to designated locations, fired at a simulated enemy, blocked assault groups and destroyed armed formations. During the complex trainings, the issues of storming buildings, combating unmanned aerial vehicles and detecting toxic substances were also practiced.

Trainings were held in Saratov, Samara, Ulyanovsk, Orenburg, Penza, Kirov regions, as well as in Udmurtia, Tatarstan and Bashkortostan. They were of a planned nature and were aimed at maintaining the combat readiness of the military units on duty.
