In Dagestan, at the base of the Caspian Flotilla (CFL), Orthodox servicemen celebrated the Nativity of Christ. The service was held at the KFL surface ships formation.

The assistant commander of the brigade for work with believers in the military, Hieromonk Ioann Anisimov held a festive prayer service in honor of the feast of the Nativity of Christ, addressed the sailors with Christmas greetings and blessed them to serve the Fatherland.

The officers and sailors, together with the clergyman, prayed for the health and well-being of relatives and friends. The meeting took place in a warm atmosphere, a representative of the Orthodox Church told the servicemen the history of the holiday.

At the end of the service, Hieromonk John handed over the Bible, the New Testament and the icon of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker, the patron saint of sailors, to the crews of the KFL warships.
