The transfer of units of the Ivanovo Airborne Forces and units of the 45th separate special-purpose brigade of the Airborne Forces from the Russian peacekeeping contingent of the CSTO peacekeeping forces to the Republic of Kazakhstan continues.

Airborne units with standard equipment and weapons fly by military transport aircraft from airfields in the Moscow and Ivanovo regions to the Zhetygen and Almaty airfields.

Units from the Russian peacekeeping contingent, which had previously arrived on the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan, began to fulfill the assigned tasks to protect vital facilities, airfields, and key social infrastructure facilities.

An air group of more than 70 Il-76 and 5 An-124 airplanes created by the Russian Ministry of Defense transfers units of the Russian contingent of the CSTO peacekeeping forces to Kazakhstan around the clock.

In accordance with the decision of the CSTO Collective Security Council, adopted on January 6, 2022, the Collective Peacekeeping Forces of the Collective Security Treaty Organization were sent to the Republic of Kazakhstan for a limited time to stabilize and normalize the situation.

They included units of the armed forces of the Russian Federation, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Tajikistan and the Kyrgyz Republic.

The main tasks of the Collective Peacekeeping Forces of the CSTO will be the protection of important state and military facilities, assistance to the forces of law and order of the Republic of Kazakhstan in stabilizing the situation and returning it to the legal field.
