By the beginning of 2022, the Marine Corps of the Caspian Flotilla (CFL) underwent a complete re-equipment and were 100% equipped with modern modernized Kalashnikov AK-74M assault rifles of 5.45 mm caliber with the “Body kit” modernization kit (for ground forces and reconnaissance).

These samples of small arms are designed to re-equip the airborne assault and reconnaissance units of the KFL marines.

The new assault rifles have a stock adjustable in length and improved magazines made of translucent polymer. For the installation of various attachments, the machines are equipped with a Picatinny rail, which allows you to install various attachments on the weapon. The set of assault rifles includes day and night sights, laser designators, flashlights; the new weapon also retains the ability to mount a bayonet-knife and an under-barrel grenade launcher.

The assault rifles supplied to the reconnaissance units of the Marine Corps are additionally equipped with a tactical handle, a device for silent and flameless shooting. The modernized AK-74M with the use of the “Body kit” kit can significantly increase the convenience and functionality of its use, which generally increases the speed, accuracy and accuracy of fire by one and a half times at a distance of up to 300 m. The upgraded weapon can be used at any time of the day and in various climatic conditions.

In the past 2021, in addition to the Marine Corps units, modern AK-74M “Obves” assault rifles entered service with a special detachment to combat submarine sabotage forces and means (PDSS) of the KFL.
