The military transport aviation of the Russian Aerospace Forces continues the transfer of the Russian contingent of the CSTO peacekeeping forces to the airfields of Almaty and Zhetygen of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Units of the Airborne Forces from the Russian peacekeeping contingent of the CSTO peacekeeping forces, deployed to the Almaty airfield, marched in convoys to the mission areas, where, having understood the situation, they began to protect vital facilities and social infrastructure.

An air group of more than 70 Il-76 and 5 An-124 aircrafts created by the Russian Ministry of Defense transfers units of the Russian contingent of the CSTO peacekeeping forces to Kazakhstan around the clock.

In accordance with the decision of the CSTO Collective Security Council, adopted on January 6, 2022, the Collective Peacekeeping Forces (CSTO) of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) were sent to the Republic of Kazakhstan for a limited time to stabilize and normalize the situation.

They included units of the armed forces of the Russian Federation, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Tajikistan and the Kyrgyz Republic.

The main tasks of the CSTO CSTO will be the protection of important state and military facilities, assistance to the forces of law and order of the Republic of Kazakhstan in stabilizing the situation and returning it to the legal field.

From the Russian Federation, the CSTO KMS included units and military units of the Airborne Forces.

Earlier, advanced units from the Russian peacekeeping contingent arrived on the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan and began to fulfill the assigned tasks.
