Officers of the tank units of the combined arms army of the Western Military District, stationed in the Voronezh, Bryansk, Smolensk and Belgorod regions, applied more than 10 new crew training methods during exercises and exercises in the 2021 academic year.

With the help of the updated training and material base at the training grounds, the servicemen were able to recreate the conditions for both individual and pair training of tankers.

Among the innovations is the overcoming of special obstacle courses, in which a tank pair must cover each other from the “enemy”, hitting moving and emerging targets and passing over 2 kilometers without slowing down the movement speed. Another innovation was the development of the “front everywhere” tactics, during which tankers, as part of small groups, have to provide defense of positions where there is no clear front and rear line, which requires high combat autonomy from servicemen, as well as the ability to conduct combat operations for a long time.

Also this year, the military personnel of the ZVO combined-arms army took part for the first time in a special combat training program “Steel Hunter”, the purpose of which is the comprehensive training of crews.
