Career Development CenterInnovation and educational complex “Technograd” at VDNKh summed up the results of the course “Six skills of an effective job seeker” for 2021. The educational program was launched following a vote in the Active Citizen project. The residents of the capital independently chose the most important topics for them.

“The course“ Six skills of an effective job seeker ”has become the only full-fledged educational program in the capital with step-by-step practical recommendations for all stages of job search. As part of the course, 11 streams took place, on which over three thousand people were registered. To complete the program and obtain a certificate, it was necessary to confirm the assimilation of theoretical knowledge at a level of at least 80 percent and complete all homework. 949 participants coped with this, 360 of them have already informed us about successful employment based on the results of training, “said the head

The course was developed by Technograd in cooperation with the Association for Career Consulting and Support. Classes are aimed at enhancing the competitiveness of job seekers and are designed to help them find employment as soon as possible.

The training program includes five practice-oriented seminars, homework and one lesson to analyze the students’ questions. As a result of the training, applicants receive a resume, created with the help of experts, and a cover letter for the selected vacancy. At meetings with listeners, job search specialists talk about the non-obvious possibilities of job portals, the intricacies of conducting a dialogue with a recruiter, the correct positioning of their strengths and weaknesses, and also share the secrets of a successful interview.

“In 2022, the organizers plan to expand the course program at the request of the participants. Now experts will talk about building a professional brand, as well as how to choose your employer and successfully pass the probationary period. To ensure that students have enough time to learn all the nuances, we also increased the number of lessons on the course. There will be eight of them, ”added Aleksey Fursin.

Some of the participants took the course twice to consolidate the theoretical material of the rich educational program.

“I studied on two streams online. The first time I could not attend all the classes, so I signed up for the second time. Studying on the course helped me to form a more holistic picture of the employment process in comparison with my initial ideas, – said Elena, one of the program participants. – For myself, I realized that my situation is absolutely solvable. On the one hand, I have a lot of work experience, and on the other, there is some kind of burnout, since in the last 20 years I have been doing about the same thing. Now I figured out how to act in order to achieve the goals I needed: freedom, predictability and financial stability. “

According to another student of the course, Anna, she signed up for classes when she had a misunderstanding of her goals.

“I never looked for a job and thought that I just had to write my resume and go on to interviews with it. But everything turned out to be not so simple, I discovered a lot of new things for myself: I sat and solved problems, did my homework. I got the opportunity to see the coordinate system, which allows me to orient myself and build a further plan for the development of my career, ”said Anna.

Both young Muscovites and experienced applicants take part in the program. Anton Ionichev signed up for the course at 42. He graduated from a military university and served under a contract for a long time, but at the end of 2020 he thought about changing his place of work. He first got acquainted with the programs of the Career Development Center at the beginning of the year, when he signed up for the related course “Taking Care of My Own Hands”. Then I decided to master the skills of an effective job seeker.

“The course allowed me to develop important employment skills. I trained to put them into practice in parallel with the training. Found a job in a month and a half – got a job at a college as a teacher of the basics of life safety and military training. This is largely a merit of the teachers and evidence of the effectiveness of those life hacks that we were told about, ”said Anton.

Another participant in the program, Irina Babkina, faced the need to find a job at the age of 47. She completed the course twice: face-to-face and online, and thanks to the knowledge she gained, she found a job in a month and a half.

“The program gave me the opportunity to adapt to new conditions and requirements in the labor market. The teachers helped me to rethink and present my professional experience and skills in a new way, to learn how to overcome unsuccessful interviewing experience and to effectively use all channels of job search, ”said Irina.

On January 20, 2022, training will begin on the first stream of the course already according to the expanded program, it is focused on applicants over 45 years old. At one of the new webinars, listeners will be told what the strategy for building a professional brand consists of, which channels need to be attracted, and how to create a holistic picture of themselves in the information field. The second webinar will focus on the nuances of choosing an employer and successfully completing a probationary period. The expert will give the participants a step-by-step action plan.
