The two-link tracked amphibious snow and swamp vehicle GAZ-3344-20 “Aleut” was adopted by a unit of the railway troops of the Central Military District, stationed in Udmurtia.

The Aleut all-terrain vehicle is made according to a modular scheme: the front link is an energy module in which up to 5 people can move, including the driver, the rear link is a transformable passenger module with a capacity of 15 people, which can be easily converted into a sleeping, medical unit or command post, its payload is 2500 kg.

The operating temperature ranges from minus 40 to plus 40 degrees Celsius and is excellent for the local harsh continental climate. GAZ-3344-20 is able to overcome water obstacles. Movement afloat is carried out using a caterpillar propeller. The car is equipped with a pre-heater for the engine and fuel, and is equipped with a heating system for the passenger compartment.

“Aleut” is equipped with a well-proven domestic diesel engine, automatic transmission and simple controls, like a truck.

The newest “Aleut” will perform a whole range of tasks in the course of the daily activities of the formation, in the course of various exercises, including building bridges, crossings for troops marching to the area of ​​performing combat training tasks.
