On the eve, the fifth stage of the Biathlon World Cup ended in Oberhof, Germany. Army biathletes Lieutenant Alexander Loginov and Senior Lieutenant Anton Babikov won gold medals in sprint and single mixed, respectively.

Alexander Loginov brought the first victory for the Russian national team at the stages of the Biathlon World Cup this season. The army athlete won the sprint race, covering the distance in 27 minutes 0.8 seconds, with one penalty. Second place went to Frenchman Emilien Jacquelin (two penalties, 6.5 seconds back), third – Norwegian Sturla Legrade (one penalty, +15.1 seconds).

A day later, Anton Babikov, together with Kristina Reztsova, became the best in the single mixed relay at the World Cup in Oberhof, Germany.

The Russian duo covered the distance in 41 minutes 37.1 seconds with 12 extra rounds and one penalty loop.

The second place was taken by the Austrian team (41.5 seconds back; one lap + 13 penalties), the Ukrainians closed the top three (+1.03.6; 0 + 12).
