The first patients are planned to be admitted there in the first quarter of 2022.
As part of the second phase of the construction of a multidisciplinary clinical hospital in Kommunarka, an outpatient clinic was erected.
“Today we are opening a new outpatient building in Kommunarka. The Kommunarskaya hospital, or medical center, is the most modern in Russia, designed according to world standards. Two thirds of this clinic has already been built and commissioned. Two buildings will also be built – a perinatal hospital and a children’s hospital, and a unique designed radiation therapy building will remain for 2023, in which the most modern technologies will be concentrated, ”said
The construction of a seven-story (with an underground floor) building of the outpatient clinic building with an area of 8.5 thousand square meters was completed in December 2021.
The new building will become the first specialized outpatient center in the Troitsky and Novomoskovsky administrative districts (TiNAO) of Moscow with a consultative and diagnostic department (first and second floors), an endoscopic center (third and fourth floors), an outpatient oncological care center (fifth floor), a hemodialysis department (sixth floor) and a day hospital for chemotherapy (seventh floor).
“Absolutely multidirectional outpatient care will be provided here. We are now in a day hospital for the treatment of cancer patients with the use of chemotherapy drugs. In the same building there are six places for hemodialysis in patients with renal failure, a high-flow endoscopy center and a consultative and diagnostic center, which will provide planned assistance in all three areas: surgery, neurosurgery and traumatology – this is in the plans after leaving the covid. ” , – said the chief physician of the city clinical hospital No. 40 in Kommunarka Denis Protsenko.
In the building, designed for 500 visits per shift, hundreds of thousands of Muscovites will receive specialized medical care – not only residents of the TyNAO, but also of the South-Western and Western Administrative Districts. If necessary, specialized patients from other districts will be referred here.
On the ground floor, there will be offices for the collection of analyzes and a bacteriological laboratory, as well as an office for processing documents for the provision of high-tech medical care.
On the second floor, in the consultative and diagnostic department, the reception will be conducted by specialist doctors – therapist, cardiologist, endocrinologist, surgeon, orthopedic traumatologist, otorhinolaryngologist, ophthalmologist, dentist, urologist-andrologist and obstetrician-gynecologist.
On the third and fourth floors, an endoscopy center with expert-class equipment will operate, making it possible to conduct research (gastroscopy, colonoscopy) with high precision. This will ensure early detection of malignant neoplasms of the gastrointestinal tract, as well as dynamic monitoring of patients with cancer.
For patients, there are wards for waking up and resting after endoscopic procedures, equipped with medical consoles (complex installations for the prompt supply of compressed medical gases and power supply to beds).
On the fifth floor, a department of the outpatient oncological care center of the city clinical hospital No. 40 will be opened, and there will also be offices of specialist doctors – oncogynecologist, oncourologist, oncomammologist, chemotherapist, hematologist and psychologist. The department will include ultrasound and functional diagnostics rooms. There will be a pharmacy (preferential drug supply).
On the sixth floor there will be a hemodialysis department, which will include a primary admission office, a dialysis room for six beds with a nurse’s post, a procedure room for peritoneal dialysis, an urgent analysis laboratory, as well as a comfortable waiting area for an appointment, a room for changing clothes and storing things, a room for outpatient relaxation. patients.
Rooms for chemotherapy and dialysis are equipped with comfortable chairs for patients and infusion sets (used for intravenous administration of various solutions) for therapy, including an infusomat and a perfuser – devices that allow you to measure and administer the exact dosage of a drug to a patient.
On the last, seventh floor, a day hospital with 24 beds for chemotherapy, a small operating room and two postoperative wards (one of them for people with limited mobility), treatment rooms, doctors ‘and nurses’ offices, as well as auxiliary and sanitary rooms will be equipped.
A clear navigation system will allow patients to easily navigate, and cozy waiting areas will create a comfortable atmosphere and make their stay in the new building as convenient as possible.
To equip the outpatient clinic, the latest medical equipment was purchased, including two gastroscopes, two video gastroscopes, two two-channel thromboelastographs, two rectoscopes (viewing and diagnostic), nine electrocardiographs, a six-channel rheograph, a pneumomassage device for intermittent compression, a video colonoscope, an echosinography installation, seven dialysis machines, of which one is a backup, a dental unit with a dental X-ray machine.
The building has computers connected to a unified digital healthcare platform (UMIAS), personnel call systems, video surveillance, ventilation and air conditioning, and fire alarm systems.
The new building will employ 558 people, including 179 doctors, 213 nurses and 166 other employees.
The new outpatient clinic building in Kommunarka will receive its first patients in the first quarter of 2022.
How the main medical center of the TyNAO was created
The medical complex under construction in Kommunarka is a powerful multifunctional clinical center, which is being built on an area of 13 hectares. The total area of buildings will exceed 160 thousand square meters. More than 1260 beds will be deployed in the hospital, and over three thousand doctors and other specialists will work here.
The new clinic is designed to provide planned and emergency care to residents of the TyNAO, as well as Butov, Solntsev, Novo-Peredelkin and other districts of Moscow. Patients will be able to receive a full range of services (diagnostics, inpatient and outpatient treatment, high-tech care) in almost all profiles.
Construction of the hospital began in January 2017. It is carried out in several stages.
In December 2019, the construction of the first stage was completed – four buildings with a total area of 87.2 thousand square meters, including:
– ward building for 802 beds. The eight-storey building with an area of 42.4 thousand square meters is intended for specialized departments for the main types of medical care for adults. Patients are accommodated in comfortable small wards with a bathroom, shower and a modern ventilation system;
– medical and diagnostic building. The five-story building with an area of 25.8 thousand square meters is equipped with a radiation diagnostics department with rooms for CT, MRI, X-ray diagnostics and mammography, a clinical diagnostic laboratory, a central sterilization department, departments for ultrasound diagnostics, endoscopy, functional diagnostics, physiotherapy and physiotherapy exercises, anesthesiology and resuscitation … The building houses angiographic, hybrid, orthopedic and traumatological, neurosurgical operating rooms, as well as general operating rooms. There is a conference room with 300 seats and a canteen for employees with 250 seats;
– auxiliary building – a four-storey building with an area of 9.1 thousand square meters, where a disinfection department, a food block, an in-hospital pharmacy, a warehouse of medical supplies, a laundry, a blood storage and distribution service are provided;
– the pathological and anatomical building – a three-storey building with an area of 9.4 thousand square meters. It houses a modern morphological and genetic laboratories, a forensic medical examination department with a laboratory group.
The commissioning of these buildings was scheduled for the spring of 2020. However, due to the spread of coronavirus infection, the ward building of the hospital was redesigned. Thus, Kommunarka became the first and most famous coronavirus hospital in Russia. There are 802 beds deployed, including 66 beds in the intensive care unit.
In addition, in October 2020, a reserve hospital with 1,333 beds (943 ward beds and 390 intensive care and intensive care beds) was organized on the territory of the hospital.
Since March 1, 2020, the Kommunarka hospital has received 68.4 thousand patients with coronavirus infection. Currently, 718 patients are being treated at the hospital, of which 230 are in intensive care, 117 are on a ventilator, and 153 are on non-invasive ventilation. Over the last day, 111 patients were admitted. 96 people were discharged.
Sergei Sobyanin noted that today the hospital in Kommunarka is the main center for the fight against coronavirus not only in Moscow, but also in the country. He thanked the staff of the city clinical hospital No. 40 for their help in the fight against the pandemic.
“In total, about 70 thousand patients have been treated, thousands and thousands of lives have been saved. I hope that this period will end and this unique clinic will be fully operational, serving both New Moscow and the surrounding areas. And it will be one of the largest cancer centers in Moscow and our country, ”added the Mayor of Moscow.
Despite the difficulties associated with the pandemic, the construction of facilities of the second stage of the hospital complex in Kommunarka continues.
Currently, the construction of buildings for an ambulance substation, children’s infectious diseases and outpatient buildings has been completed, as well as the arrangement of a helipad with a dispatch point for receiving emergency patients from the territory of the TyNAO and other districts of Moscow.
Currently under construction:
– a perinatal center (maternity hospital) with 130 beds – a six-story building with an area of 22.4 thousand square meters. The center will become the first obstetric hospital on the territory of the TyNAO. The building is being built according to an individual project, taking into account all modern technologies. There will be an admission department with an emergency operating unit, obstetric physiological departments for the joint stay of mother and child, departments of pregnancy pathology, neonatal resuscitation, anesthesiology and resuscitation for women in labor, a maternity department with an operating unit for three operating rooms, a clinical diagnostic laboratory (express), a women’s consultation and an assisted reproductive technology (IVF) unit. Construction readiness of the center – 98 percent;
– a children’s building for 180 beds – an eight-story building with an area of 24.2 thousand square meters. It will house an admission, ward pediatric department, a general surgery department, a neurotraumatology department, otorhinolaryngology, neurology, anesthesiology and resuscitation departments, endoscopy, ultrasound, radiation and functional diagnostics, neonatal pathology, neonatal resuscitation, an operating unit and a day hospital. The building is 47 percent built.
The most important facility will be a 50-bed radiation therapy building designed for 3D and 4D radiation therapy for cancer. The building will house a laboratory for radioisotope diagnostics with single-photon and positron emission computed tomography – SPECT and PET, which will allow detecting malignant neoplasms at an early stage.
Availability, quality, comfort: new treatment standards
The hospital complex in Kommunarka is equipped with modern medical equipment in accordance with international standards. Three computed tomographs, an MRI apparatus, four angiographic and four X-ray units, endoscopic, laboratory and pathological equipment were purchased for the clinic.
Resuscitation departments and 30 operating rooms are equipped with the latest equipment.
The admission department in the ward building works according to the “triage” principle and is divided into three categories. The red zone is the shock room, emergency operating rooms, the intensive care unit, the yellow zone is the wards for patients, where help is organized according to the principle of “doctor to patient”. The green zone is intended for those who are in a consistently satisfactory condition. There are three emergency operating rooms in the admission department.
The hospital will host the first regional vascular center in the Troitsky and Novomoskovsky administrative areas, where they will provide assistance to patients with heart attacks and acute cerebrovascular accidents (strokes). Modern specialized equipment will make it possible to perform the most complex intravascular surgeries.
The hospital in Kommunarka will become one of six anchor cancer centers with a state-of-the-art laboratory. Patients will be able to receive all types of specialized care – from diagnostics to surgery and radiation therapy. The medical facility will also become the first obstetric hospital in the TyNAO, where pregnant women and newborns will be provided with all the necessary assistance.
Also, the clinic will house the departments of urology and oncosurgery. And thanks to the helipad, the hospital can receive emergency patients evacuated from the places of traffic accidents, man-made and natural disasters.
The presence of simulation classes will allow training not only for hospital staff, but also for medical workers of other medical institutions in Moscow.
One of the main features of the hospital is a high level of comfort for patients: it has small wards with large bright windows, high ceilings and bathrooms adapted for access by people with limited mobility. The wards are equipped with multifunctional electric beds and call buttons for medical personnel with signal transmission to the nurse on duty. The modern ventilation and air conditioning system guarantees a comfortable stay. For the convenience of patients and staff, the buildings are connected by underground and overhead passages with easy navigation.
The new clinic implements the concept of pill nutrition – the principle of portioning ready meals in the catering unit, and not in the departments. Food is laid out in individual portions in high-impact porcelain dishes, which are delivered to patients using transport trolleys.
There is a canteen for the hospital staff. Also, the staff have lounges and meals directly in the departments. A playground and parking will be provided in the adjacent territory. Good transport accessibility of the medical center in Kommunarka will be ensured by the Olkhovaya and Kommunarka metro stations of the Sokolnicheskaya line, opened in June 2019, and, in the future, by the stations of the Troitskaya metro line under construction.
