At one of the training grounds in the Murmansk region, servicemen of a separate motorized rifle brigade of the Northern Fleet (SF) worked out driving T-80BVM tanks. More than 70 servicemen and more than 10 pieces of equipment were involved in the event.

Tankers in combat vehicles passed a special route equipped with 15 different obstacles: anti-tank ditches, mine barriers, slopes and track bridges. Also, servicemen in the convoys at the maximum permissible speeds worked out maneuvers of varying complexity.

The results of the lesson showed a high level of training of driver mechanics. Subsequently, tankers will fire from the standard armament of T-80BVM tanks at emerging and moving targets imitating various ground targets: tanks, a recoilless gun on a car and a hand-held anti-tank grenade launcher at a distance of 700 to 2000 m.

For reference:

The T-80BVM tank is equipped with a gas turbine engine adapted for operation in the harsh climatic conditions of the Far North and the Arctic. It has high operational and combat characteristics and is equipped with modern weapons. The tank battalion of a separate motorized rifle brigade of the Northern Fleet was completely re-equipped with these vehicles in 2019.
