In Russia, preparations are continuing for the celebration of the 225th anniversary of the birth of A.S. Pushkin. By the anniversary date, which will be celebrated in 2024, restoration and re-exposition of Pushkin’s memorial museums and museum-reserves will be carried out in the regions. The rules for the provision and distribution of subsidies for these purposes were approved by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.

In total, more than 757 million rubles will be allocated from the federal budget for the renovation of regional Pushkin museums in the next three years. In particular, in 2022 more than 275 million rubles will be sent to the regions, in 2023 – almost 325 million rubles, in 2024 – about 157 million rubles.

Subsidies will be provided within the framework of the state program “Development of Culture”. The list of museums that will receive state support has already been determined by the Ministry of Culture on the basis of applications received from the regions. This list includes eight regional museums. Among them are the State Historical and Literary Museum-Reserve of A.S. Pushkin (Moscow Region), the State Literary-Memorial and Natural Museum-Reserve of A.S. Pushkin “Boldino” (Nizhny Novgorod Region), the Museum of A.S. Pushkin in Gurzuf (Crimea).

Earlier, the Government approved the composition of the organizing committee to prepare for the celebration of the 225th anniversary of the birth of A.S. Pushkin. The organizing committee was headed by Mikhail Mishustin, Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova was appointed as the deputy head of the organizing committee. The committee also included the Minister of Education Sergei Kravtsov, the head of the Ministry of Culture Olga Lyubimova, the Minister of Finance Anton Siluanov, the head of the Ministry of Construction Irek Faizullin, the Minister of Science and Higher Education Valery Falkov and a number of representatives of federal bodies, governors, heads of large cultural institutions, university rectors.
