According to the results of 11 months of last year, the volume of industrial production of Moscow enterprises increased compared to the same period in 2020. This was told by the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Economic Policy and Property and Land Relations Vladimir Efimov.

“From January to November 2021, the growth in manufacturing output was 30.6 percent compared to the same period in 2020. The increase was mainly due to the chemical, electronic and food industries, the production of medicines. There was also an increase in mechanical engineering, light industry, paper production and wood processing. The growth of the manufacturing industry has largely affected the volume of industrial production in Moscow as a whole: over the 11 months of last year, it grew by 29.2 percent compared to the same period in 2020,” said Vladimir Yefimov.

The volume of production in the chemical industry increased by 43.5 percent over 11 months. The enterprises of the capital began to produce more paints, varnishes and other materials for applying coatings, as well as printing inks and mastics. In addition, the production of medicines and medical consumables continues to grow: in January-November, plus 32.6 percent.

“Production of food products increased by 14.1 percent due to the positive dynamics in the production of ready-made animal feed, meat semi-finished products, as well as processing and canning of fruits and vegetables. Also, for 11 months, the volume of wood processing and the production of wood products increased by 71 percent. This may be due to the increased demand for materials for repairs, ”said the head

Significant growth was also shown by the production of electrical equipment – by 66.7 percent. Among the reasons is the development of the infrastructure of cellular operators at transport facilities. Also, the demand for electrical equipment increased due to the growth in the capacity of existing and the creation of new data processing centers in the metropolitan area.
