In Bagrationovsk, the second stage of the Victory Route project, created by local Yunarmiya members, has started. This time it was supplemented with an exciting quest for knowledge of the cultural and military history of the Kaliningrad region.

To participate, you only need access to social networks and a phone that will receive messages with tasks when you are near the next quest point. After completing the task, the participants will find out the address of the next stop.

On their way, the children will have to not only find the necessary information, but also solve puzzles, use the knowledge of various types of encryption. Thus, acquaintance with the route and sights of the city becomes more interesting.

The project team will especially note that the quest they have developed is a team game that helps to increase team spirit and unites the guys.

“Bagrationovsk is a place through which a huge number of both regional and international cycling routes pass. But few people got acquainted with the history of the city. Now, thanks to the fact that there is a route developed by us, tourists will be able to learn a lot about these places. I am sure about that. Our city has something to be proud of,” said Alexei Krasnov, head of the UNARMIA regional headquarters in the Kaliningrad region.

The region, which was previously part of Germany and was called East Prussia, is rightfully proud of the exploits of the Red Army heroes during the Great Patriotic War. That is why the events of those years scorched by the fires of the war are given special attention on the route created at the first stage of the project.

So, travelers will visit Fatykh Karim Street – a Tatar poet who died on the outskirts of Preussis Eylau (now Bagrationovsk), Vasily Utin Street – a border guard of the 95th border regiment of the NKVD troops, Nikolai Kuzmich Kovalev Street – a participant in the battles near Preussis Eylau, who the main memorial of the city is a monument.

Also, the path runs through the street on February 10th – this is the day when the city was liberated from the Nazis, as well as Pobeda Street, the Border and Irkutsk-Pinsk divisions, whose troops participated in the liberation of Preussish Eylau on February 10, 1945.

The route also covers other historical places of the city, such as the obelisk “To the Glory of Russian Arms”, dedicated to the battle for Preussisch Eylau on February 7-8, 1807, the Kregov Heights, the Temple of Faith, Hope, Love and their mother Sophia, the forburg (the outer defensive part of the castle or fortress) Preussisch Eylau Castle, preserved since 1325, and, of course, a museum of the history of the region.

Members of the Yunarmiya promised that new cycling routes with a length of 10 to 40 kilometers would appear very soon, historians and local historians are already developing them.

It is worth noting that bicycle parking has also been created along the route so that travelers can wander around and see the sights without fear for the safety of their two-wheeled transport. At the same time, you can get acquainted with the route in more detail at the stands installed at the entrance to the city.

In addition to getting acquainted with history, the Yunarmiya project introduces residents and guests of the region to maintaining a healthy lifestyle, which is one of the main tasks of the Movement.

Recall that the project “Victory Route” has been implemented by the Bagrationov Youth Army for two years and was supported by the Agency for Youth Affairs of the Kaliningrad Region. Then, on September 27, 2020, the young patriots presented their first route with a length of 13 kilometers.

The Kaliningrad region is the westernmost outpost of Russia. Local members of the Yunarmiya realize this like no one else, therefore they consider it their duty to show Europe and the whole world that the feat of Soviet soldiers is immortal.
