In total, more than 106 thousand people took part in the voting, ”said Stanislav Shevchenko, President of the All-Russian Volleyball Federation.

Three finalists were selected from a large number of developed variants of talismans – fairy-tale characters, animals, objects and even weather phenomena: a bear, a robot and a tiger. The main struggle unfolded between the bear and the tiger – the latter won with 45.9 percent of the fans’ votes. The bear received 41.9 percent of the vote.

“The talisman is associated with Russia, because many specialists are working to preserve the Amur tiger population in the Far East. The tiger is strong, agile, jumpy, he plays volleyball perfectly and will be able to show his class on the playground. I am sure that it will become a bright symbol of the World Championship and will charge all spectators with a positive mood, ”said Roman Stanislavov, General Director of the Organizing Committee of the 2022 World Volleyball Championship.

When developing the mascot, the organizers were guided by the corporate identity and the key slogan of the World Championship “Volleyball Electrifies!” The name of the official mascot will be announced at a later date.

The Men’s Volleyball World Championship will begin on August 26 and continue until September 11, 2022. 24 national teams will take part in it. The games will take place in 10 Russian cities, Moscow will host the decisive matches.
