Dmitry Chernyshenko held a meeting on the operation of a unified service 122, which ensures the routing of all calls to the phones of medical institutions, hotlines and emergency services on the topic of COVID-19

The Vice Prime Minister noted the importance of enhanced control over the work of call centers of the 122 service, which provides routing of calls from citizens to medical institutions and ambulance services, in connection with the increase in the spread of the new Omicron strain in the world.

“The epidemiological situation is deteriorating. The signs of the fifth wave of coronavirus are clearly visible, during which we will face peak loads on the healthcare system, as well as on the telecommunications system. On behalf of the President of Russia, in November 2020, call centers of a single federal number 122 were deployed in the regions, where all calls related to COVID-19 are sent. This service allows citizens to quickly contact medical institutions and ambulance services in order to quickly receive the necessary assistance. The government keeps control over the efficiency of the system of these call centers. The subjects have resources, subsidies totaling 700 million rubles have been brought to the regions. These funds should be used to re-equip call centers, strengthen the staff of operators and introduce AI-based voice assistants,” said Dmitry Chernyshenko.

The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that the analytical services of the Government Coordination Center, together with the Ministry of Digital Development, ensure regular monitoring of the performance of service 122. Following the meeting, it was instructed to stress test the readiness of call centers for peak loads and ensure maximum efficiency of service 122.

Dmitry Chernyshenko thanked the heads of the subjects who continue to keep the situation with dial-ups under control and ensure the high-quality work of the service in the interests of the residents of the region. He noted that from next week the regions with the worst situation in terms of waiting time for a response and the number of unanswered calls in the 122 service will be named.
