The local unified sports and technical school and the regional sports and technical club DOSAAF recently organized an “Open Doors Day”, inviting tenth graders from the 7th school of Kaliningrad.

A year later, the guys complete their studies, and those who have not decided on their future profession will have a difficult choice. Therefore, they were interested in learning about the possibilities of an educational professional institution, such as the Kaliningrad Driving School of DOSAAF Russia.

The guests were greeted by the head of the school Yevgeny Feskov. Then he introduced them to the driving school teacher Olga Denisova, who conducts theoretical training for future drivers of categories A, B, C, D and subcategories.

She gave the students a 45-minute session and told the students what driver candidates would have to study before they could get a driver’s license. These are, first of all, the basics of legislation in the field of traffic, including knowledge of the rules of the road (which are 24 sections and two annexes) and administrative responsibility for their violation, as well as the psychophysiological foundations of the driver’s activity and other theoretical subjects.

Olga Denisova spoke about the teaching staff – people with extensive professional experience in this area and stressed that the driving school has all the rights and permissions to train and retrain drivers in all categories and subcategories of driving licenses. In addition, the school provides training in such professions as a rescue sailor, navigator of small boats, a technologist, a versatile cook, a confectioner, a restaurant administrator, a manager, and also provides retraining in many specialties.

Olga Denisova spoke in detail about the material and technical base of the driving school, where all conditions for learning are created. We have our own autodrome (at the Maloe Isakovo-Devau airfield), where driving skills are honed. Classes are equipped with modern multimedia equipment and visual aids, there are computer classes, classes for laboratory and practical classes, including medical training. The tenth-graders themselves were convinced that the pre-Saafovo driving school really has a modern educational and material base for acquiring a profession. They visited the computer class and got acquainted with the computer software for traffic rules, saw the components and assemblies of cars in the class for laboratory and practical classes. In a word, the guys were pleasantly surprised that the driving school is so well equipped, and here you can get a quality education. They learned about this from a lecture and an excursion, and therefore many thought that it was really possible to train a driver of category “B” here in three months, and at a discount that a driving school provides specifically to schoolchildren.

The open day for guests continued at the Kaliningrad Regional Shooting and Sports Club DOSAAF, which celebrated its 70th anniversary. Club teachers Sergei Shumakov and Igor Glukhikh told the children about the models of firearms presented at the exhibition, invited those who wished to take part in the sports sections of the club, which has several shooting galleries. They proudly showed cups, medals and diplomas, which were won by pre-Saaf riflemen at all-Russian and international competitions.

Such familiarization actions have become traditional in the regional branch of DOSAAF and its subdivisions. It is important that young people not only discover new educational opportunities provided by the Kaliningrad Defense Organization and its educational institutions, but also learn about the state tasks that the country’s DOSAAF has been solving for over 95 years.
