The tankers of the army corps of the Baltic Fleet have begun a phased preparation for participation in the All-Army competition “Tank Biathlon-2022”. More than 100 military personnel of the tank units of the army corps are taking part in the training, taking place at one of the training grounds in the Kaliningrad region, over 20 units of military equipment are involved.

Training of tank crews is carried out as part of the planned combat training of tank units. Currently, as part of the first stage, tankers are conducting practical driving lessons with overcoming obstacles in the form of craters, trenches, ditches, track bridges, minefields on various routes.

A target environment and firing lines have been specially prepared for firing from tanks at the training ground, and a field camp has been created to accommodate tankers. After the completion of driving training, the tank crews will start firing with a standard projectile from guns on the move at emerging and moving targets. Tankers will hit targets imitating tanks and low-flying helicopters at distances from 900 to 1800 meters.

In addition, in addition to firing from standard tank armament, the crews are also preparing for the sports stage of the competition, which includes running and carrying boxes of ammunition, overcoming labyrinths, wells, hand walks and water obstacles, as well as throwing grenades.

The Tank Biathlon professional skills competition is included in the program of the International Army Games. The winners of the first stage of the competition will continue to compete on the scale of the association and the district.
