On the Day of the Creation of the Military Band Service of the RF Armed Forces, the first training session of the military band of the Eastern Military District (VVO) took place in the capital of the Khabarovsk Territory in preparation for the Victory Parade.
The personnel of the military orchestra of the Eastern Military District worked out the technique of performing military marches, famous patriotic works, their sonority, as well as the teamwork of the musical group. Training will continue for the next month.
In the new year, the military orchestra of the Eastern Military District, which is included in the first category of orchestras, will take part in competitions, where they will demonstrate their skills in holding parade ground concerts, as well as performing musical compositions from the service repertoire.
In addition, the musicians of the military orchestra of the Eastern Military District are preparing for a concert in memory of the Russian conductor and composer, Lieutenant General Valery Khalilov, who was the head of the ensemble – the artistic director of the Academic Song and Dance Ensemble of the Russian Army named after A. V. Alexandrov.
For reference: The Military Band of the Eastern Military District is a division of the military band of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. It is a branch of the Military Band Service of the Russian Armed Forces. The group mainly performs in Khabarovsk and the cities of the Eastern Military District. This is the oldest creative team in the Far East of Russia.
The orchestra performs on such holidays as Victory Day (May 9) and Defender of the Fatherland Day (February 23). The musical group took part in the first International Brass Band Festival in Beijing in 1995, at the International Military Band Festival in Wonju in 2004 and 2011. In addition, he participated in the Spasskaya Tower military music festival, and since 2012, in the Amur Waves International Military Band Festival.
