The working meeting chaired by Deputy Prime Minister of the republican government Irek Sagitov was attended by employees of the penitentiary system headed by the head of the republican penitentiary system Vladislav Dzyuba, representatives of ministries and departments, administrations of cities and regions of the republic.
In connection with the expansion of the practice of applying punishment in the form of forced labor by the courts, the issue of increasing the number of places for placing convicts is becoming increasingly relevant. As Vladislav Dziuba noted, in October 2020, a correctional center was created on the basis of the site that functions as a correctional center at the colony-settlement No. 6 (Sterlitamak). Since August 2021, a similar practice has been applied in correctional colony No. 2 (Salavat), and in December last year, a section of correctional center No. 1 was opened in Ufa.
To date, work is underway to create a section of the correctional center in the city of Kumertau and the correctional center in the city of Birsk, but there is a need to open them in other cities and regions of the republic.
In addition, Vladislav Dziuba spoke about the possibilities of the production sector of the penitentiary system, expressing his readiness to produce products in demand and fulfill various state and municipal orders on mutually beneficial terms.
Following the meeting, Irek Sagitov instructed representatives of relevant ministries and departments, heads of municipalities to work out joint tasks with the Federal Penitentiary Service for the purpose of further constructive interaction.
